Hello, my name is Alexa Calvo,

I am a reborn artist from Germany.

I live with my little fourteen year old daughter, my eight year old twins and my husband near Heilbronn.

Reborn is the best hobby for me and I am very happy that my babies are finding a new home here.

It took me many hours to give this baby this very realistic newborn skin tone, using the 3D real skin method.

Using this technique I am able to create a very realistic effect.

I developed my own special way of coloring and nobody does the same.

The lifelike skin is hand painted in many different layers.

This baby has got also delicate vining and capillaries.

Please notice !!! The skin is very rosy and translucent – a typical look for a baby and different to the skin of kids or adults.

The nails have been tipped in a natural off white and varnished.

The lips are colored in natural shades and sealed as well with satin varnish.

The colors are permanent, non-toxic and do not fade.

Finally I sealed the skin with Genesis Matte Varnish.

So it feels a bit rough with a skin structure and it looks matte.

The painting on the hands and feet are more rosy.

It took several hours to make the skin structure as realistic as possible.

I dye in several layers to achieve the desired effect.

I use my own dyeing technique so there can never be a baby with the same complexion as mine.

Please note!!!

Babies have very rosy and translucent / thin skin.

This is why this baby has such skin that veins and other skin irritations shine through.

It represents a newborn and so does the skin.

The lips were sealed, as were the nails.

The colors are permanent and non-toxic.

This baby was sealed with Genesis matte varnish, so it has a more matt skin structure and feels a bit rougher as a result.

The color of the hands and feet is more pink

The hair has been mono and micro rooted with high quality alpaca hair in a brown / black color.

This process is taking a lot of time but the effort has been worthwhile!

The result is very realistic and baby like.

To make this doll look like a baby the eyelashes have been rooted so fine like a real babies has, you might believe they are real.

The hair at the forehead and the temples is partially painted in a brown color.

I also draw and rooted the eyebrows very fine and detailed so you will believe they are real.

I rooted the hair using the end hair rooting process.

For this I used high quality alpaca hair in the color black-brown.

This is a long and complex process, but one that pays off in terms of the result.

They look like real baby hair.

I also drew fine hairs on the forehead, face and temples.

The eyebrows were drawn very finely and rooted, so they look like real.

I also rooted my eyelashes fine, so they look very fine like a baby.

I have weighted the body with fiber fill, a sack of steel granulate and very realistic “baby fat” soft pellets.

Arms and legs are filled with glass beads and fiberfill.

The head is also weighted with a sack of steel granulate and fiberfill,
so you have to hold his little head like a real baby.

The weight is real balanced, the baby will lay in your arms like a real baby.

If you hold this little wonder you will never let it go!

The body was filled with Fiberfill wadding, a sack with stainless steel granulate and “Baby Bacon” soft granulate.

This makes the body feel nice and greasy, like baby fat.

The arms and legs were weighted down with glass granulate and fiberfill wadding.

The head was also filled with the cotton wool and a small bag of stainless steel granules, so that you always have to support it, just like a real baby.

This doll is realistically weighted, if you hold it in your arms, it is like holding a real baby.
