Silicone Babies, as I am sure you all know are very exspensive.
The question is are they really worth the price?
Firstly, lets take the fact that the editions for Silicone baby are limited.
With only a handful of the sculpts being made you can assure that the baby you have is rare.
Due to this fact the price for the blank, unpainted baby itself the cost is alot higher than that of a vinyl baby.
Not only that, but the material used in making a silicone baby is alot more exspensive.
These are a few of the reasons for the price.
As well as those you also have to think of the process of bringing the baby to life.
For a silicone baby this is a more time consuming and more tricky task.
If you take in mind the rooting of the hair, unlike a vinyl kit, you can not glue the hair on the inside.
This means that the artists have to find in ways to secure the baby’s hair so that it doesn’t fall out.
The painting of a silicone is also a different skill than that of a vinyl baby.
These skills take time and practice to learn, so when buying a silicone you are also paying for the artists time and experience.
So is the price of the silicone baby justified?
I would say that yes it is.
These babies will last many many years if treated correctly.
They can also be passed down through your family.
As such would become a heirloom.
So many reasons really I believe why the babies are in fact worth the price that is put on them.
If you have ever held a silicone baby you will know what i mean.
