Repeat Rose Doll Show attendee Susan Rucker is continuing her tradition by attending the Rose Doll Show 2018 later this year.
This year will mark Susans fourth year at the event and she has loved every minute of it.
Susan isn’t new to reborns, having been an avid collector for the last 7 1/2 years.
Her fascination begun over an anatomically correct doll called Joey.
“There was a Joey doll that was pulled from the shelves of stores for being anatomically correct. I was searching to see if you could still find them and what they cost and found reborns.”
Susan has two favourite sculptors, Bonnie Brown and Maisa Said, which may explain her ever growing collection.
“I have around 80 reborns and 4 silicones and a silicone cuddle baby.”
This year will be an extra special one for her.
” I take my now 9 year old niece each year. This will be year 4 for us. We love to see all the work of the artists and to see dear friends we have made.”
“This year we are excited to see our friends from overseas but being able to finally meet in person Cheryl Martin who has become a very dear friend.”
“Plus I think this year there are going to be lots of first time vendors, excited to see their work in person. Looks like there will be lots of silicones too and I have just gotten into them.”
Susan is however one of the fortunate ones, with the show relativly close to her.
“It is only about 5 hours for us to drive to the show. We make it a little mini vacation.”
There is no way that Susan will not enjoy this years event and with each year just getting better, I am sure she will leave with countless life long memories.
