We all know that reborns can have benefits to our mental well being.
But I have been wondering if they can also help with what is known as empty nest syndrome.
Recently my two eldest girls moved out.
Not just moved out but moved country.
My girls are my best friends and I miss them terribly
But I have noticed that while they have been gone I have focused more on reborn related activities.
Reborns as we know never grow up and never leave us.
We can spend years buying baby items and having cuddles.
Who wouldn’t want that?
I have always found the reborns to be a source of comfort at times when I am not really feeling myself.
After all times like this are what as parents we dread.
But having to ability to still cuddle, still sing to and buy clothes for small babies, well for me it helps my matural instinct.
So when I noticed this I started to wonder if any one else ever had the same experience.
If you have I would love to hear your story.
Or even if your reborn hobby has helped you in another way to cope with something that has happened in your life.

I’m so glad I ran across your article. I too am suffering from empty nest syndrome. The kicker is two of my three children are still living at home. My oldest lives on his own and in a different state. My other two are older and usually off doing their own thing. The days of babies and toddlers are over for me. I’ve always worked in childcare and I just naturally love children. I’m sad at times that my kids are older and I would do anything to have that time back.
I just recently started looking at reborn dolls and thought maybe that would help fulfill my nurturing need. I’ve found an amazing artist and just placed an order for a custom reborn. She will arrive in 6 to 8 weeks and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve already found my spirits to be lifted and I’ve spent the past few days strolling down the baby aisles at my local stores. Yes, I know this isn’t the real thing, but it’s brought back that spark of happiness in my life. I honestly don’t want another child, I do enjoy the ease of parenthood now vs. then, but I still love a cuddle of a baby. I have a feeling a reborn will fill that need.
Hi, I am so glad I am not the only person thinking this.
I also have three of my five children still at home, but the youngest is 11 years old so I know exactly how you feel.
I am glad you found my article and would love to chat further.
